Learning to scuba dive can be a life-changing adventure — opening the door to exciting underwater experiences and a vibrant community of fellow divers.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to advance your skills, BSAC (British Sub-Aqua Club) offers a comprehensive training programme that supports your development at your own pace. There are five internationally recognised BSAC diver grades, starting from Ocean Diver (entry level) through to the prestigious First Class Diver.
BSAC has been a leader in diver training since the 1950s. Over the decades, the Diver Training Programme has been continually refined to reflect the latest in diving knowledge and equipment. The focus is always on building confidence, self-reliance, and above all, safety.
Training is structured to progress step by step — starting with core skills taught in the safety of a swimming pool or controlled environment. You’ll then move on to complete your first open water dives, earning your Ocean Diver qualification.
From there, you can continue through to Sports Diver and beyond, developing more advanced techniques and gaining valuable open water experience.
All of our diver training takes place within the club, led by qualified volunteer instructors during weekly evening sessions and weekend open water dives. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to practice and grow your skills through regular club diving.
This is your diving journey, and at Rugby Divers, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
